Introduced in the early 1900s, aluminum foil is one of the most commonly used kitchen items. Its use is versatile, that is, aluminum foil is used for cooking, wrapping, and, believe it or not, it can actually treat certain health problems. But, it appears that the neurotoxic nature of this product has a negative effect on the brain function. In fact, it was found to encourage the onset of Alzheimer’s.
According to a medical expert, exposure to this metal might cause mental decline and loss of memory, bodily control, coordination, and balance. Moreover, when using aluminum foil for cooking, the bones are negatively affected as metal gathers in them and causes loss of calcium. As you probably already know, calcium is pivotal for proper bone health.
To make matters worse, cooking with aluminum foil was found to cause pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory issues. When this foil is exposed to high temperatures through grilling or baking, the small bits of metal penetrate the food. Even if they’re not released, additional spices or lemon juice may lead to chemical leaching of aluminum.
A chemical engineering researcher at the American University of Sharjah, Essam Zubaidy,did a study in which he examined the effects of aluminum on cooking and found that a meal cooked in aluminum foil might have up to 400 mg of aluminum. He explained that the higher the temperature, the more the leaching. He also added that aluminum isn’t a safe option for cooking and he recommends avoiding it when cooking with tomatoes, citrus juices, or spices.
All in all, this foil can have detrimental effects on the brain, bones, and lungs. Therefore, avoid cooking with it as much as possible

The report said that Chinese producers sell artificial rice made of potato starch and plastic which is steamed with rice aroma in the end. After further investigation into the matter, it was discovered that the fake Chinese rice contains as much plastic as a little plastic bag! Luckily, the rice differs from real rice in many ways, and you can easily determine which one is fake by following these simple tips:
The mortar and pestle test
Crush a few grains of rice and observe – if the rice becomes fine white powder, it is organic. If it leaves a yellow stain in the mortar, it’s plastic.
The fire test
Light a couple of rice kernels and see if they burn – if they do, the rice you bought is fake.
The water test
Pour a tablespoon of the rice in a glass of water – if it’s organic, it should fall to the bottom of the glass.
The mold test
Cook a handful of rice in water, then put it in a plastic container and leave it in a sunny spot for a few days. Real, organic rice should be moldy in 2 days; the fake rice will stay intact.
