Really slowly, push the lower knee up towards your shoulder on the same body side till you feel a stretch. Remain in this position for half a minute, then return to the starting position very slowly. Do three repetitions.

Filing a class action in the Federal District Courts of both New York and California, Daly claims that trace amounts of glyphosate were found after testing Quaker Oats Quick 1-Minute product. The suit will seek customer refunds and an insistence that the oatmeal company disclose the use of glyphosate to consumers.
Glyphosate is a popular herbicide used in the treatment of weeds and can be found in many popular weed treatment products, such as Roundup and Ortho. Daly is not claiming that Quaker Oats use of the weed killer is wrong, as much as he contends the company’s claim of their products being 100 % natural are untrue and misleading to their customers.

Pesticides are everywhere. They are sprayed in school playgrounds and public parks, and can even be found on the produce we buy from the grocery store. We do everything we can do avoid contact with these pesticides, from washing our produce before we eat them to buying organic or homegrown fruits and veggies.
We do everything we can to avoid consuming these toxic pesticides, and yet somehow it always manages to find a way into our home. One of the more recent examples of this includes the discovery of incredibly high levels of pesticides in some of the world’s most popular tea brands including Lipton, Tetley and Twinings.

CBC News conducted an investigation on the pesticide levels of most major tea-producing companies. These companies included:
Lipton (Pure Green Tea and Yellow Label Black Tea)
Tetley
Twinings
Red Rose
No Name
Uncle Lee’s Legends of China (Green Tea and Jasmine Green Tea)
King Cole
Signal
Using an accredited lab, CBC investigators used the same testing method employed by the national Food Inspection Agency to test the pesticide residue on the dry tea leaves.
The investigators found that more than half of all the teas tested had pesticide residues that were above the legally acceptable limit. Eight out of the 10 teas tested also contained multiple chemicals, with one brand of tea containing over 22 different types of pesticides.
Some of the pesticides that were discovered in the tea, including endosulfan and monocrotophos, are currently in the process of being banned by several countries due to the health risks it poses to workers that handle it and the negative impact that it has on the environment.

Best and Worst Brands
Although majority of the tea brands tested contained traces of pesticides (only one brand didn’t, we’ll get to that in a bit), some brands contained a whopping amount of pesticides while others stayed below the legal limits. Although zero pesticides are the preferred amount, here is a list of the worst offenders so you will be sure to steer clear of these brands no matter how desperate for tea you are:
Uncle Lee’s Legends of China (Green Tea). This brand of tea contains over 20 different types of pesticides, including endosulfan, which is currently in the process of being banned from many different countries due to its health and environment effects. Side effects of endosulfan consumption include tremors and other effects on the nervous system, and in some cases eating foods containing endosulfan has resulted in death.
No Name. Although it comes nowhere close to Uncle Lee’s Green Tea, it is still contains over 10 different types of pesticides.
King Cole. This tea is not as heavily laden with pesticides as the No Name brand above it, but it does have a wider variety of pesticides, including the soon-to-be-banned monocrotophos, which is known to cause involuntary defecation, irregular heartbeat and has also been known to induce comas
The tea industry has not stayed quiet during this kerfuffle. James O’ Young, vice president of Uncle Lee’s Legends of China, which also happens to be the brand which contained the most pesticides, defended his tea’s pesticide content by claiming all tea contains pesticides.
“If you drink tea, regular tea, I don’t care it’s what brand is that, the fact of life, this agricultural product does have pesticides,” O’Young said.
O’Young made this statement ignoring the fact that CBC’s investigation found that, out of the 10 different tea brands tested, Red Rose was the only product that came back completely free of pesticides. This proves that not only is it possible to cultivate tea without having pesticide residue on it, but that representatives from big corporations are blatantly lying to us about it.
Support pesticide-free tea companies by avoiding brands that you know are heavy in pesticides, such as Uncle Lee’s and No Name Brands, and purchase only from brands that you know contain little to no pesticides.

Preparation of DIY Onion Hair Treatment
Take a few onions; anything from 5 to 8 pieces should be sufficient. Peel the onions and put them in a blender. The onions should be pureed and then put on a washed muslin cloth or cotton cloth. Squeeze out the onion juice in a bowl. You will get 3 or 4 spoons of onion juice. Now, it is time to put some essential oils. Add about 10 drops of the oil to the onion juice and mix them well. The mixture would look like a whitish liquid.
Use a piece of cotton wool to dab it on the scalp. Ensure the whole of the scalp is covered with the mixture. Then you can use the tips of the fingers to massage the scalp gently but thoroughly with the mixture. This helps in absorption and stimulation. Take a spoon of olive oil and a spoon of coconut oil. Mix these oils thoroughly with the leftover onion juice-essential oil blend in the bowl. Apply the mixture on the hair strands, avoiding the scalp. Wait for at least 2 hours. Use lemon rinse to condition your hair. For this, you need to add the juice of half-a-lemon to a mug of water. This also helps to remove the strong smell of onion to some extent and makes scalp fresh.
Things to note
It is best to use fresh onion juice every time. This treatment can be done every day. But since this practice calls for regular shampooing, I prefer it on alternate days. Even if you do not have the above-said problems, the hair treatment can be still resorted to as a part of your regular hair care regimen and you can keep your hair and scalp healthy with this easy and effective treatment.
The treatment takes at least a month’s time to show results. Hence, be patient and religious in following it. You can follow this treatment, no matter what your hair type is. Overall, it is a very effective way to solve most of the problematic scalp and hair. After the treatment, the scalp feels nourished, free from itches and also hair feels soft after the treatment. The third day is a combination of the first two, meaning that you are allowed to consume both fruits and vegetables. However, make sure you don’t consume bananas and fruits. You can go for a fruit diet in the morning and then consume veggies in the afternoon; and fruit diet in the evening followed by consumption of vegetables and fruits at nights. DAY 4
Interestingly, on this day you are allowed to consume banana and milk only. You should take 8-10 bananas and three glasses of milk. There is no need to worry about feeling hungry. DAY 5

DAY 6
Day 6 also offers you a change to have a feast. You are also allowed to have a cup of rice for lunch, as in day 5. Consume vegetables for the rest of the day and drink 8-12 glasses of water. Simone`s son has kept getting sick and experiencing severe stomach aches. This horror lasted for weeks and Simone couldn’t think of anything that could be the cause. Simone noticed a strange smell coming from the cup`s sealed anti-leak feature. Surprised, Simone broke the valve what caused this unpleasant smell. Shockingly, she found mold inside the feature, which was actually getting her son sick the entire time.
After discovering the mold, Simone felt horrible and even guilty for letting her son drink something disgusting for such a long time.
The worst part is that Tommee Tippee`s sippy cup is not the only brand containing mold. Once Simone uploaded the pictures and people saw them, they discovered mold hiding under the anti-spill compartments of other cups. Just as Simone, they uploaded their pictures as well.

New studies that test dogs’ skills to sniff cancer in patients show that a Labrador retriever could detect cancer as a laboratory.

Another study found that trained dogs could detect prostate cancer in urine with 98% precision.

Two German shepherds were trained at the Italian Ministry of Defense’s Military Veterinary Center using reinforcement to recognize prostate cancer. The 3-year old dogs analyzed more than 400 urine samples. The one dog detected prostate cancer with 100% accuracy, while the other dog had 98.6% accuracy.

However, dogs can sniff out other types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, colon, bladder, skin and lung cancer, usually by smelling breath samples.

When having cancer, the body releases particular organic compounds that dogs can smell and people cannot. Scientists hope this will help them one day to develop an electronic nose that can detect cancer as dogs’ nose can.
Dog’s sense of smell is up to a million times better that human’s.
Many dog owners say that their pets persistently sniff or nudge an area on their body that later was proved to have a tumor. Maureen Burns has a 9 year old collie mix named Max. Her dog started to act strangely and insistently sniff her breast and back off with a sad look in his eyes.
Maureen had a small breast lump, but her mammogram showed to be clear. Her dog’s peculiar behavior persisted, so Maureen went to the doctor again and asked for a biopsy. Doctors were amazed when the results showed the lump was cancerous.
Another story has Claire, an animal behavioural psychologist. She was convinced that animals could sense abnormal cancer cells through smells emitted by the skin, urine or even in the breath. Her dog Daisy, a cocker spaniel, even saved her life. Daisy was pawing at her chest and bumped against her body repeatedly. After a few days, Clair noticed a lump in her breast.
Gillian Lacey has a Dalmatian named Trudii, who helped her diagnose her skin cancer. The dog became disturbed about a mole that appeared on her owner’s right leg while on holiday when she was 19. Trudii kept sniffing it, then licking and nibbling it. Her strange behaviour continued for eight months. Two weeks later Gillian was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma.

Statistically, over 5 million people in the U.S suffer from some form of restless legs syndrome, also known as RLS. This disorder is very common in USA, given the fact that over 1 million children of school have it and 1 in 10 adults suffer from its symptoms.

When it comes to its symptoms, it is also important to mention that they are more frequent at night. Even though this disorder is not very serious, it reduces one`s quality of life and prevents him from performing certain activities.
Causes of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS)
There are two different forms of this syndrome: primary and secondary. Consequently, their causes are different.
For instance, primary restless leg syndrome is hereditary syndrome and the reason lies behind the part of the brain which is responsible for monitoring. The secondary form of this syndrome may be caused by a wide variety of factors, such as impaired kidney function, damaged peripheral nerves, degenerative diseases of the spine, anemia, and pregnancy.

Sometimes, RLS can be a side –effect of some medications and bad habits, such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, nicotine, coffee, and alcohol. The diagnosis is usually made on basis of a clinical picture and the lab results are based on hormonal status, kidney samples and complete blood count. In most cases, the patient is prescribed tranquilizers or analgesics or advised to take more vitamins, minerals, and exercise, depending on the diagnosis. Sometimes, the root cause can be an iron deficiency, so those people are recommended to consume more red meat, beets, and prunes in order to increase the levels of iron in their body.
How to Alleviate the Symptoms?
Sometimes, the symptoms can be alleviated by getting up and walking around for a while. According to many experts, stretching before bedtime is also very helpful. You need to sit on the floor with the legs stretched out. Then, bend the torso to the feet so that you are able to reach the hands. Stay in this position a couple of minutes.
A good way to get a relief from this issue is to enjoy a warm bath before sleeping. During the day, try to stay active, exercise, or at least walk on a fresh air. Moreover, you can also practice stretching and exercises which involve relaxation and deep breathing, such as yoga. Ultimately, make sure you avoid caffeinated drinks like black tea and coffee, as they negatively affect the sleep quality.
Aromatherapy
Combine 5 drops of marjoram and basil with 3 drops of almond oil to make a mixture which will be used for massage. It is recommended to massage your feet with this mixture every night before bedtime.
Tea Mixture
Ingredients:
Half a liter boiled water
1 tablespoon of chamomile flowers
1 tablespoon of crushed rosehip flowers
1 teaspoon of honey
Little amount of lemon juice
Instructions:
First, pour the boiled water over the chamomile and rosehip flowers. Cover the mug and allow it to sit for a while. Strain the liquid afterwards and add the honey and lemon juice.
Consume the tea a couple of times daily and before going to bed.

Corn is a grain – and a very unhealthy one! It contains the most sugars and starch and has an almost zero nutritional value. It’s the first plant which was genetically modified and continues to be enhanced by humans, making it completely unhealthy and bad for our health.
Autoimmune disease – corn doesn’t contain gluten but the body confuses the protein in corn with gluten and your immune system gets confused. This disrupts the gut lining wreaking havoc on your digestive system. It also has a very high glycemic index which contributes to inflammation and can easily be converted to sugar, hampering the body’s insulin response.
Corn cannot be digested – due to the fiber cellulose in corn, the body cannot digest corn easily. The human digestive system cannot completely break down cellulose because it lacks the enzyme to do so, leading to the trouble people often have fully digesting corn. Like all grains, corn contains prolamins, which are a class of proteins that your body can’t properly break down, thus leading to such conditions as leaky gut.

Some beef products – even those labeled as 100% beef – have been found to contain substituted ingredients or even contaminants from rats or humans, according to a new study.
“While unpleasant, the presence of human DNA or rat DNA is not likely to be harmful for human health,” the study notes.
While more and more consumers are becoming conscious of their food choices and the impact their diet has on their bodies and the world around them, many are unaware of the common practices and safety regulations of the factories that manufacture or package some of our favorite foods.
The study, which was conducted by the US-based food testing company Clear Labs, tested samples from 258 burgers – including ground beef, frozen patties, fast-food and veggie burgers. The study discovered two cases of meat in vegetarian products, three cases of rat DNA and one case of human DNA.
Although we would like to think that our food has had a rather uneventful journey, never coming into contact with bacteria, animals or human DNA, the reality of the industry is quite the opposite.

“The most likely cause is hair, skin, or fingernail that was accidentally mixed in during the manufacturing process,” Clear Labs said, referring to the human DNA finding. “What many consumers don’t know is that some amounts of human and rat DNA may fall within an acceptable regulatory range.”
As it simply cannot be avoided – and is not harmful to humans – contamination is expected by food regulatory authorities.“It is economically impractical to grow, harvest, or process raw products that are totally free of non-hazardous, naturally occurring, unavoidable defects.”-FDA Defects Level Handbook
As a result, Clear Labs had expected to find very low levels of contaminants in the products tested for the study.

“The low incidence of hygienic issues surfaced by our study is a testament to the burger industry as a whole and the stringent protocols for safe food handling. As noted by the FDA, certain low levels of contamination are acceptable,” Clear Labs said.
The study, which was created to provide a comprehensive overview of the burger industry, also found that many of the tested products had ingredients substitutes, and in some cases, missing completely.
Of the 258 burgers tested – taken from 79 brands and 22 retailer – the vegetarian products revealed the most alarming results. According to the report, 23.6% of vegetarian products showed some form of discrepancy between product and label, compared to the 13.6% of all samples.
In fact, advertised ingredients were missing from as many as 15% of the products tested – one black bean burger was found to contain no trace of black beans. In addition, some of the meat products were also found to have substituted ingredients. A total of 16 meat products – or 16.6 percent of all samples – including beef, chicken and pork, were found to have similar substitutions.
As expected, the study also discovered that many of the product’s nutritional content was inaccurate, with nearly half of the products containing more than what was advertised on their nutrition facts label – around 40 additional calories per serving on average. This can prove to be problematic for consumers wishing to know accurate nutritional values and ingredients – whether it be for allergies or religious reasons – for the products.
“Considering that FDA labeling requirements make it mandatory for most fast food restaurants to publish nutritional information on fast food menus, these discrepancies are potentially worrisome for customers who make decisions about what to order based on calorie counts and other available nutritional information,” Clear Labs said.
