Colgate is one of the most popular toothpaste and numerous people regularly use it.But, a recent study revealed that Colgate contains a dangerous substance called Triclosan, which can cause cancer and other conditions.
A Chemical Research in Toxicology journal recently published a story in which was revealed that Triclosan encourages cancer cell growth. Over the previous years, there were also other studies that outlined the same thing linked to this chemical.This substance penetrates through the skin and obstructs the function of the hormones and disturb the endocrine.Environmental Health Perspective journal made a study in 2008 in which were tested people that use Colgate. At 75 % of them (2517, aged 6 and more) triclosan was detected in urine.This dangerous chemical is found in numerous hand sanitizers, laundry detergents, antiseptics and deodorants.When penetrates through the skin into the blood, triclosan is triggering hormonal imbalance.Even though there are enough studies and proofs that confirm this fact, Colgate still sells their toothpaste claiming that is safe for our health.The only country that has forbidden Triclosan until now is Canada.The U.S government is still silent about this substance and its side effects, and probably will stay silent until some serious health problems happen, as it was in the case with asbestos, PCB and DT.To sum up, if no one is taking care of our health, we are left to do it by ourselves, so we must put restrictions on this kind of harmful ingredients that are dangerous for our health.
