Gargle Gargles are the first easy yet effective remedy that comes to mind. They are easy to make and should be applied frequently during the day, usually every 2 hours. Try, for example, an effective gargle with ¼ glass of apple cider vinegar mixed with the same amount of water. This mixture can be also used as a home-made throat spray. 2. Licorice Root Sore throat teas are the most delicious and pleasant sore throat remedies. Make licorice root tea which is perfect for relieving and soothing a sore throat. You will need 1 teaspoon of licorice root grated or finely chopped. Put it into a cup, pour boiling water and steep for 10 minutes. 3. Lozenges Sore Throat Lozenges work as topical anesthetics bringing a temporary sore throat relief, soothing an irritated throat and have a variety of pleasant flavors. Vinegar Dissolve ¼ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of vinegar in a cup of lukewarm water, mix and use as a gargle. 9. Cayenne Pepper Try a gargle made of 5 shakes of cayenne pepper powder in a cup of hot water, stirred. 10. Ginger Grated ginger root or a ginger powder has to be simmered for 10 minutes in warm water, then strained. Add a teaspoon of honey, a pinch of cayenne pepper, mix and gargle. 11. Honey and Lemon Honey and lemon are two most popular sore throat home remedies. Honey provides soothing coating with an immense amount of natural useful components for the inflamed throat tissue, while lemon eliminates congestion and kills bacteria. Take honey and lemon in equal proportions, mix and heat a little in the microwave. Swallow the mixture slowly from time to time to soothe your throat. 12. Marshmallow Root Infusions prepared of marshmallow root, sage or licorice root are very effective and easy to make. Pour boiling water into a cup with 1 spoon of dried marshmallow root, or licorice root, or sage and peppermint leaves, steep covered for 10-30 minutes. 13.
